Blinkies, buttons and falling snow

This is just a quick note for those interested in adding something moving or blinking to their blog. I looked for Christmas-related stuff, but I am sure that there is much more to be found.

Dotty Dot Dot has free backgrounds, and some of these are really funny. One I found awesome was a Doodle-background.
In addition, they also have a few free blinkies. They are added like a gadget, via copy and paste. You can find an easy to follow 'How to install' there too.

Falling snow
And, just right for Christmas in the snow, I found a free snow storm effect on the spice up your blog site. There are easy instructions -I think I only pushed two buttons- and at least for the moment, there is a little snowing going on in my blog. :)

What I like about these two pages is that they have made it pretty easy, because the changes that you can have are only added like a gadget. I feel less insecure about redecorating something in my blog when adding or deleting is just about a single gadget. If I make a mistake there, I don't feel as if losing the whole blog because of a mistake.

So, I hope the effects work the way they should. Let it snow, let snow, let it snow!

... high-tech stuff is not interesting for me either,
so if I bored you with the above,
I can offer this

Have a very nice and wonderful weekend everybody!

    1. Hi Jan, I hope that I do not have to get more into the technical side of blogging, because that's absolutely not the fun part of it (but this time it was pretty easy to do).
Here comes a downer: I think I made this entry so quickly because I needed it as a distraction. We got the news today that a friend of ours has become seriously ill with uterine cancer and we are very worried about her. It is not as bad as we had it last year in December and I believe that all will be well, but her and her family's Christmas will be difficult. :( She got the news only yesterday and of course she has been completely down ever since. But it seems her chances of healing are good ones, so when she told us that, she created a lot of hope in us.

And there are more positive news as well! Things are much better with the babysitting brigade, all over sudden, the situation has turned to the better. My mom and bff will be here tomorrow, so that we can make biscuits while my mom babysits. She was really happy that I asked her to do that for us and she appreciates this a lot. ... And she has plans. ... :) She has mentioned that she'll be out with Tilda, just for a short walk (you can imagine the long moment of silence from my side of the phone), but I know which way she will take, it is only a short time and I'll be busy with my friend.
So, it is a sort of trial and it is a little different than I'd have preferred. But since she can only be away a short moment and I could actually see both of them, mom and Tildy, most of the time if I wanted to, that's something I can manage. I think. :)
Babysitting brigade is a great term for our helpers. I'll tell hubby, but don't know if our babysitters would laugh about it or be miffed. :)

      hugs

  3. Congratulations Nina on how well you are working things out with your mom and the rest of the baby hog brigade. Your mom just wants to feel as if she is helping and I think you are doing a great job with that. Did you have her take care of Tilda while you took a bath?

Love the look of your blog...look at how techie you are becoming. ;)

    Hugs and Blessings...

    1. Hi Cat, I think slowly, very slowly I find a way of getting this right, so that the baby hog brigade is appeased and I don't end up as a nervous wreck. The tub is still the best idea, and we had already planned this, and due to some really bad news from a close friend we had to postpone this. Nevertheless, my mom and my bff will be here in a few minutes, and mom will take care of Tilda while we bake. It will be great fun for all of us and though I cannot do the tub today, I know that my mom will not forget this. :) Thank you once again, my mom does not know where the original idea came from (then I'd have to do a lot of explain about dd-blogs, spanking, etc.), but I know that she appreciates it just as much as I do!

      hugs

    1. Hi Roz, thank you, I am glad you like the new look of it. I hope that I can do changes easier now or at least know where to find the tips and how-to's.
But looking for some funnies is definitely what I like better than looking for the high-tech things!
